Warm weather, family and tears

We have had Trey and Carolann here visiting for several days and that has been terrific. Carolann flew back to Boston yesterday and I miss her already. It is so nice to feel comfortable and relaxed around your son's honey bunny. Now after another warm, sunny day Trey and Jim are on the tennis courts for some laughs and bonding time. Tomorrow Trey heads back to New York (that's where the tears come in) to get back to work and enjoy the city in summer. It has been great having him visiting his home away from home. We will have to plan a trip to NYC to visit soon.

responsibility

Of late, I have mulled how taking responsibility for our own lives, health and well being seems to have been slipping through the cracks. There is such a push to blame others, frighten us from exploring new ideas or encourage us to relinquish our own authority over our lives in deference to the opinion of some "authority" that we seem to have been drifting away from thinking for ourselves about what works for us. Self empowerment is the goal of living through our lessons in this lifetime - to do that we must accept our own responsibility to create the life that works for us best. Not the life that works for someone else.
The significant problems we have cannot be solved at the same level of thinking with which we created them.

A summer's day

Things at home are wonderful - my son and his girlfriend are visiting from the East coast and it is wonderful to have them here. Last night we shared a 27 year old French Bordeaux in celebration of their visit. What a special gift along with a lovely dinner. Today it is very warm and we are all doing our best to stay cool - the dogs are slugs, Jim is on the tennis courts teaching (yuk) and the kids are making breakfast before a trip to the beach. Me, I will be holding down the fort at home between dips in the pool. Life is good!!!!
